A friend of mine telephoned me the other dayHe said come on up to South Carolina wayI have cases of unused Bibles still in the boxI will give them to you said my friend Mike CoxI drove I-95 to the other side of Marion LakeI was thinking unused Bibles for goodness sakeI'll take those Bibles and pass them aroundThey need to be used and not in boxes boundI had a great visit with Mike and his sonThey were renovating a motel and having funThe motel building had been vacant for awhileThe old furniture and fixings made quite a pileJonathan Johnson bought the sad looking placeHe said I'll change it and give it a new faceSoon those old rooms will be nice living quartersOwned by the residents and not rented by boardersI loaded the cases of Bibles and away I droveBrought them back home to my pecan groveI then asked the Lord who to give them toTo the inmates in the local jail I gave a fewNow those Bibles are not collecting dustPeople are reading about God in whom I trustThe Word has been bound for far too longIt was good to hear Brother Mike sing a songCopyright 2005 Irvin L.
